HMS Fal was a River-class frigate in service with the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number K266. The ship was named after River Fal. Smiths Dock Company, South Bank-on-Tees, UK laid her keel on 20 May 1942. She entered service on 2 July 1943, having been launched on 9 November 1942.
Her class ran to 15 ships. The Loch-class frigate followed.
Displacement was 1,460 long tons standard and 2,170 long tons at full load. She measured 91.7 m (301 ft) long with a beam of 11.0 m (36 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 177. Her main battery was of 102 mm (4.0 in) calibre.
