HMS Trumpeter was a escort carrier of the Bogue-class escort carrier (USA) built for the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number D09. The ship was named after Bastian Bay. Seattle-Tacoma Shipbuilding Corporation laid her keel on 25 August 1942. She entered service on 4 August 1943, having been launched on 15 December 1942.
14 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Long Island-class escort carrier and was succeeded by the Sangamon-class escort carrier.
Displacement was 7,800 long tons. She measured 150.9 m (495 ft) long with a beam of 21.0 m (69 ft). Her designed speed was 18.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 890. Her main battery was of 127 mm (5 in) calibre.
She carried 28 aircraft.
She served with the United States Navy as USS Bastian. She then passed to the Royal Navy, serving as HMS Trumpeter from 4 August 1943. She then passed to the Royal Netherlands Navy, serving as Alblasserdijk (1948–1953) from 1948. She was in commission for 2,953 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 19 June 1946.
She was broken up for scrap in 1971.
