USS Richard B. Anderson was a Gearing-class destroyer in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number DD-786. The ship was named after Richard B. Anderson. Her keel was laid at Todd Shipyards on 1 December 1944. She entered service on 26 October 1945, having been launched on 7 July 1945.

She was one of 55 ships of her class. The class followed the Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Norfolk class.

She displaced 3,460 long tons. She measured 118.9 m (390 ft) long with a beam of 12.2 m (40 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 336. Her main battery was of 127 mm (5 in) calibre.

She served with the United States Navy as Richard B. Anderson until 20 December 1975. She was decommissioned on 20 December 1975. She was struck from the register on 30 January 1976.

She was sunk. The wreck survives.
