USS S-46 was a S-class submarine of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid at Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Quincy, Massachusetts on 23 February 1921. She entered service on 5 June 1925, having been launched on 11 September 1923.

Her class ran to 111 ships.

The boat displaced 850 long tons surfaced and 1,126 long tons submerged. She measured 68.6 m (225 ft) long with a beam of 6.1 m (20 ft). She carried a complement of 42.

Her main battery was one 102 mm (4 in) guns.
