Archimède was a Redoutable-class submarine in service with the Marine Nationale. She carried the pennant number Q142. The ship was named after Archimedes. Chantiers Navals Français, Blainville-sur-Orne, Caen, France laid her keel on 1 August 1927. Launched on 6 September 1930, she entered service on 22 December 1932.

Her class ran to 29 ships.
