U-464 was a submarine of the Type XIV ocean-going submarine tanker built for the Kriegsmarine. Deutsche Werke, Kiel laid her keel on 18 March 1941. She entered service on 30 April 1942, having been launched on 20 December 1941.
Ten ships of the class were built.
The boat displaced 1,661 long tons surfaced and 1,901 long tons submerged. She measured 67.1 m (220 ft) long with a beam of 9.3 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 14.9 knots, and she carried a complement of 53.
Her main battery was two 37 mm (1.5 in) guns.
She was in commission for 114 days of the Second World War.
