HMS Derwent was a Hunt-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number L83. Vickers-Armstrongs, Barrow-in-Furness laid her keel on 29 December 1940. She entered service on 24 April 1942, having been launched on 22 August 1941.
24 ships of the class were built.
She displaced 1,050 long tons standard and 1,435 long tons at full load. She measured 85.3 m (280 ft) long with a beam of 10.1 m (33 ft). Her designed speed was 27 knots, and she carried a complement of 168. Her main battery was of 102 mm (4.0 in) calibre.
Her machinery developed 19,000 shp.
She was in commission for 1,227 days of the Second World War.
She was broken up for scrap in 1947.
