HMS Verulam was a V-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R28. Her keel was laid at Swan Hunter on 26 June 1942. She entered service on 12 December 1943, having been launched on 22 April 1943.

30 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Nelson-class battleship and was succeeded by the Lion-class battleship.

Displacement was 1,808 long tons. She measured 110.3 m (362 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 179. Her main battery was of 40 mm (1.6 in) calibre.

She was in commission for 630 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1970.

She was broken up for scrap on 23 September 1972.
