HNLMS Van Ghent was a Admiralen-class destroyer. She was named for Willem Joseph van Ghent. Koninklijke Maatschappij De Schelde laid her keel on 28 August 1925. She entered service on 31 May 1928, having been launched on 23 October 1926.
Eight ships of the class were built. The class followed the Wolf-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Gerard Callenburgh-class destroyer.
She displaced 1,310 long tons. She measured 98.2 m (322 ft) long with a beam of 9.4 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 129.
Her main battery was four 119 mm (4.7 in) guns. She carried one aircraft. Her machinery developed 31,000 hp.
She was scuttled on 15 February 1942, at 3°05′S 107°21′E. The wreck survives.
