Borea was a Turbine-class destroyer built for the Regia Marina. She carried the pennant number 1927. She was named for Northerly wind. Ansaldo, Genoa laid her keel on 29 April 1925. She was launched on 28 January 1927.
Her class ran to eight ships. The class followed the Sauro-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Navigatori-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,073 long tons standard and 1,673 long tons at full load. She measured 93.2 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 9.2 m (30 ft). Her designed speed was 33 knots, and she carried a complement of 179.
Her main battery was four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns in two twin mountings. 40,000 shp drove two shafts.
She was in commission for 382 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 17 September 1940. The wreck survives.
