Ostro was a Turbine-class destroyer built for the Regia Marina. She carried the pennant number 1928. The ship was named after Ostro. Her keel was laid at Ansaldo, Genoa on 29 April 1925. Launched on 2 January 1928, she entered service on 9 October 1928.
Eight ships of the class were built. The class followed the Sauro-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Navigatori-class destroyer.
She displaced 1,073 long tons standard and 1,673 long tons at full load. She measured 93.2 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 9.2 m (30 ft). Her designed speed was 33 knots, and she carried a complement of 179.
Her main battery was four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns in two twin mountings. Her machinery developed 40,000 shp through two shafts.
She was in commission for 323 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 20 July 1940, at 36°13′N 12°52′E. The wreck survives.
