Yura was a Nagara-class cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was named for Yura River. Her keel was laid at Sasebo Naval Arsenal on 21 May 1921. She entered service on 20 March 1923, having been launched on 15 February 1922.
Her class ran to six ships. The class followed the Kuma-class cruiser and was succeeded by the Japanese cruiser Yūbari (chronologically).
She displaced 5,170 long tons. She measured 162.2 m (532 ft) long with a beam of 14.2 m (46 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 450.
Her main battery was seven 140 mm (5.5 in) guns. Her belt armour was 63.4 mm (2.5 in) and her deck 28.6 mm. She carried one aircraft. Her machinery developed 90,000 shp through four shafts.
She was in commission for 1,176 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 20 November 1942.
She was scuttled on 25 October 1942, at 8°15′S 159°57′E. The wreck survives.
