USS John J. Powers was a Evarts-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy. She was named for John James Powers. Her keel was laid on 25 September 1943. She entered service on 29 February 1944, having been launched on 2 November 1943.

67 ships of the class were built. The class followed the N/A and was succeeded by the Buckley-class destroyer escort.
