USS S-47 was a S-class submarine of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid at Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Quincy, Massachusetts on 26 February 1921. Launched on 5 January 1924, she entered service on 16 September 1925.
Her class ran to 111 ships.
The boat displaced 850 long tons surfaced and 1,126 long tons submerged. She measured 68.6 m (225 ft) long with a beam of 6.1 m (20 ft). Her designed speed was 14.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 42.
Her main battery was one 102 mm (4 in) guns.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 25 October 1945. She was struck from the register on 13 November 1945.
She was broken up for scrap in May 1946.
