USS Sanders was a Evarts-class destroyer escort in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number DE-40. Her keel was laid at Puget Sound Navy Yard on 7 September 1942. Launched on 18 June 1943, she entered service on 1 October 1943.
Her class ran to 67 ships. The class followed the N/A and was succeeded by the Buckley-class destroyer escort.
Displacement was 1,140 long tons. She measured 88.1 m (289 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 19 knots, and she carried a complement of 198.
