HMS Hardy was a V-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R08. Her keel was laid at John Brown & Company, Clydebank, Scotland on 14 May 1942. Launched on 18 March 1943, she entered service in August 1943.
Her class ran to 30 ships. The class followed the Nelson-class battleship and was succeeded by the Lion-class battleship.
She displaced 1,777 long tons standard and 2,058 long tons at full load. She measured 110.6 m (363 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 37 knots, and she carried a complement of 180. Her main battery was of 40 mm (1.6 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 180 days of the Second World War.
She was scuttled on 30 January 1944, at 73°40′N 24°30′E. The wreck survives.
