HMS Tenacious was a T-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R45. Cammell Laird, Birkenhead laid her keel on 3 December 1941. She entered service on 30 October 1943, having been launched on 24 March 1943.

Nine ships of the class were built. The class followed the Q and R-class destroyer and was succeeded by the U and V-class destroyer.

She displaced 1,710 long tons standard and 2,505 long tons at full load. She measured 110.3 m (362 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36.8 knots, and she carried a complement of 180.

Her main battery was two 40 mm (1.6 in) guns.

She was in commission for 675 days of the Second World War.
