Alpino was a Soldati-class destroyer of the Regia Marina. She carried the pennant number 1938. The ship was named after Mountain infantry. Her keel was laid at Cantieri Navali Riuniti, Ancona on 2 May 1937. She was launched on 2 September 1938.
17 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Oriani-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Comandanti Medaglie d'Oro-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,850 long tons standard and 2,550 long tons at full load. She measured 106.7 m (350 ft) long with a beam of 10.2 m (33 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 206.
Her main battery was four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns in two twin mountings. 48,000 shp drove two shafts.
She was in commission for 1,326 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 19 April 1943 by aircraft. The wreck survives.
