I-26 was a Type B1 submarine in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her keel was laid at Kure Naval Arsenal, Kure, Japan on 7 June 1939. Launched on 10 April 1940, she entered service on 6 November 1941.
The class followed the Type J3 submarine and was succeeded by the Type B2 submarine.
The boat displaced 2,584 long tons surfaced and 3,654 long tons submerged. She measured 108.7 m (357 ft) long with a beam of 9.3 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 23.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 94.
Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns.
She was in commission for 1,220 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 10 March 1945.
She was sunk on 17 November 1944, at 28°00′N 141°30′W. The wreck survives.
