I-361 was a Type D1 submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her keel was laid at Kure Naval Arsenal, Kure, Japan on 16 February 1943. She entered service on 25 May 1944, having been launched on 30 October 1943.

The boat displaced 1,440 long tons surfaced and 2,215 long tons submerged. She measured 73.5 m (241 ft) long with a beam of 8.9 m (29 ft). Her designed speed was 13 knots, and she carried a complement of 55.

Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns.

She was in commission for 442 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 10 August 1945.

She was sunk on 31 May 1945, at 20°22′N 134°09′E. The wreck survives.
