I-60 was a submarine of the Kaidai-class submarine (KD3B Type). Sasebo Naval Arsenal, Sasebo, Japan laid her keel on 10 October 1927. She entered service on 24 December 1929, having been launched on 24 April 1929.
Her class ran to 20 ships.
The boat displaced 1,800 long tons surfaced and 2,300 long tons submerged. She measured 101 m (331 ft) long with a beam of 8 m (26 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 60.
Her main battery was one 120 mm (4.7 in) guns. Her machinery developed 6,800 bhp.
She was in commission for 921 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 November 1933. She recommissioned in 1934. She was struck from the register on 10 March 1942.
She was sunk on 17 January 1942, at 6°20′S 104°49′E. The wreck survives.
