HMS Rifleman was a destroyer escort of the Algerine-class minesweeper built for the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number J299. She was built by Harland & Wolff, Belfast. She entered service on 11 February 1944, having been launched on 25 November 1943.

14 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Bangor-class minesweeper and was succeeded by the Ton-class minesweeper.
