HMS Antigua was a Colony-class frigate/Tacoma-class frigate in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number K501. Her keel was laid at Walsh-Kaiser Company, Providence, Rhode Island on 3 April 1943. Launched on 26 July 1943, she entered service on 4 November 1943.

Her class ran to 45 ships.

Displacement was 1,264 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190.

Her main battery was four 40 mm (1.6 in) guns in two twin mountings.
