HMS Gold Coast was a Colony-class frigate/Tacoma-class patrol frigate in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number K584. Walsh-Kaiser Company, Providence, Rhode Island laid her keel on 7 August 1943. Launched on 21 September 1943, she entered service on 5 February 1944.
Her class ran to 45 ships.
Displacement was 1,264 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190. Her main battery was of 40 mm (1.6 in) calibre.
