HMS Barbados was a Colony-class frigate/Tacoma-class patrol frigate in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number K504. She was named for Royal Navy Captain Sir Lawrence Halsted. Her keel was laid on 11 May 1943. She entered service on 18 December 1943, having been launched on 27 August 1943.
She was one of 45 ships of her class.
She displaced 1,264 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190. Her main battery was of 76 mm (3.0 in) calibre.
She served with the United States Navy as USS Halsted (PG-184) until 30 October 1947. She then passed to the Royal Navy, serving as HMS Barbados from 18 December 1943. She was in commission for 624 days of the Second World War.
