EK-3 was a Tacoma-class frigate in service with the United States Navy. She was named for City of Belfast. Consolidated Steel Corporation, Wilmington, California laid her keel on 26 March 1943. Launched on 20 May 1943, she entered service on 24 November 1943.

She was one of 76 ships of her class. The class followed the Asheville-class patrol frigate and was succeeded by the none.

Displacement was 2,415 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190. Her main battery was of 76 mm (3.0 in) calibre.

She served with the United States Navy as Belfast until 31 January 1950. She then passed to the Soviet Navy, serving as EK-3 from 12 July 1945. She was in commission for 700 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 12 July 1945. She was struck from the register on 31 January 1950.

She was broken up for scrap on 17 November 1948.
