HMS Dominica was a Colony-class/Tacoma-class frigate built for the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number K507. Walsh-Kaiser Company, Providence, Rhode Island laid her keel on 27 July 1943. She entered service on 25 January 1944, having been launched on 14 September 1943.

She was one of 45 ships of her class.

Displacement was 1,264 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190.

Her main battery was four 40 mm (1.6 in) guns in two twin mountings.
