USS Richey was a Edsall-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy. The ship was named after Joseph Lee Richey. Her keel was laid at Brown Shipbuilding, Houston, Texas on 19 April 1943. Launched on 30 June 1943, she entered service on 30 October 1943.
She was one of 78 ships of her class. The class followed the Cannon-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Rudderow-class destroyer escort.
Displacement was 1,253 long tons standard and 1,590 long tons at full load. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.2 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 21 knots, and she carried a complement of 209.
Her main battery was three 76 mm (3 in) guns.
She was in commission for 675 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in January 1947. She was struck from the register on 30 June 1968.
She was expended as a target in July 1969. The wreck survives.
