USS Alden was a Clemson-class destroyer built for the United States Navy. The ship was named after James Alden. Her keel was laid at William Cramp & Sons, Philadelphia on 24 October 1918. Launched on 14 May 1919, she entered service on 24 November 1919.
Her class ran to 84 ships. The class followed the Wickes-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Farragut-class destroyer (1934).
She displaced 1,215 long tons. She measured 95.7 m (314 ft) long with a beam of 9.4 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 106.
Her main battery was four 102 mm (4 in) guns.
She was in commission for 2,144 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 24 January 1923. She recommissioned on 8 May 1930. She was struck from the register on 13 August 1945.
She was broken up for scrap on 30 November 1945.
