USS Bangor was a destroyer escort of the Tacoma-class frigate of the United States Navy. She was named for City of Bangor. Her keel was laid on 20 May 1943. She entered service on 22 November 1944, having been launched on 6 November 1943.

She was one of 76 ships of her class. The class followed the Asheville-class patrol frigate and was succeeded by the none.

She displaced 2,415 long tons. She measured 92.3 m (303 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 190. Her main battery was of 76 mm (3.0 in) calibre.

She served with the United States Navy as Bangor (PG-124) until 16 August 1946. She was in commission for 284 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 April 1946. She was struck from the register on 23 April 1947.

She was broken up for scrap in 1964.
