USS Gansevoort was a Benson-class destroyer of the United States Navy. She was named for Guert Gansevoort. Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, San Francisco, California laid her keel on 16 June 1941. Launched on 11 April 1942, she entered service on 25 August 1942.
30 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Sims-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Gleaves-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,620 long tons. She measured 106.1 m (348 ft) long with a beam of 11.0 m (36 ft). Her designed speed was 37.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 276.
Her main battery was four 127 mm (5 in) guns.
She was in commission for 1,104 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 1 February 1946. She was struck from the register on 1 July 1971.
She was expended as a target on 23 March 1972. The wreck survives.
