USS Kirkpatrick was a Edsall-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy. The ship was named after Thomas Leroy Kirkpatrick. Her keel was laid at Consolidated Steel Corporation, Orange, Texas on 15 March 1943. Launched on 5 June 1943, she entered service on 23 October 1943.
78 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Cannon-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Rudderow-class destroyer escort.
She displaced 1,253 long tons standard and 1,590 long tons at full load. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.2 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 21 knots, and she carried a complement of 209.
Her main battery was three 76 mm (3 in) guns.
She was in commission for 680 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 24 June 1960. She was struck from the register on 1 August 1974.
She was broken up for scrap on 12 March 1975.
