USS Dallas was a Clemson-class destroyer built for the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number DD-199. The ship was named after Alexander J. Dallas. Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Company laid her keel on 25 November 1918. She entered service on 29 October 1920, having been launched on 31 May 1919.

84 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Wickes-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Farragut-class destroyer (1934).

She displaced 1,215 long tons. She measured 95.7 m (314 ft) long with a beam of 9.4 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 33.3 knots, and she carried a complement of 130.
