HMS Cheviot was a C-class destroyer (1943) destroyer built for the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R90. Alexander Stephen & Sons, Linthouse laid her keel on 27 April 1943. Launched on 2 May 1944, she entered service on 11 December 1945.

Her class ran to 40 ships. The class followed the W and Z-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Weapon-class destroyer.

Displacement was 1,885 long tons. She measured 110.3 m (362 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 186.

Her main battery was four 114 mm (4.5 in) guns. 40,000 shp drove two shafts.

She was decommissioned in March 1960.

She was broken up for scrap on 22 October 1962.
