USS John D. Edwards was a Clemson-class destroyer, operated by the United States Navy. She was named for John D. Edwards. Her keel was laid at William Cramp & Sons, Philadelphia on 21 May 1919. Launched on 18 October 1919, she entered service on 6 April 1920.

She was one of 84 ships of her class. The class followed the Wickes-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Farragut-class destroyer (1934).

Displacement was 1,215 long tons. She measured 95.7 m (314 ft) long with a beam of 9.4 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 124.

Her main battery was four 102 mm (4 in) guns.

She was in commission for 2,157 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 28 July 1945. She was struck from the register on 13 August 1945.

She was broken up for scrap on 30 November 1945.
