HMS Cavalier was a C-class destroyer (1943) destroyer in service with the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R73. J. Samuel White and Company, Cowes, Isle of Wight laid her keel on 28 March 1943. She entered service on 22 November 1944, having been launched on 7 April 1944.
She was one of 40 ships of her class. The class followed the W and Z-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Weapon-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,710 long tons. She measured 110.6 m (363 ft) long with a beam of 10.9 m (36 ft). Her designed speed was 37 knots, and she carried a complement of 186. Her main battery was of 113 mm (4.4 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 284 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1972.
